Baby Ktan Baby Carrier - Brown, Small

The best carrier I've found
I'm so glad I got this - it has saved my sanity! I have a fussy 6-week-old who rejected my other (expensive) sling carrier. The K'Tan fabric is super soft and forgiving (you can make adjustments once baby is in to get comfortable) and my back and neck are not sore after wearing him for hours in this. He is big - about 12 pounds, but I have found it fairly quick and easy to get him in and out of my K'Tan with minimal fussing. This carrier truly is different from all others out there - and I think it is worlds better. I plan to use this well into his toddlerhood - and can even carry my 3-year-old in it due to the high weight limit. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

Best thing I bought for baby. Versitle, multi-position sling with masculine styiling for daddies
My second kid is coming and I can't wait to sling her too!
After dog-earing Baby Bargains and googling, googling, googling (i'm the research junky in my marriage), I decided to buy the Baby K'tan sling. I joke that I have womb envy (I was so excited to sling-it, i bought the k'tan 6 months before my first child was born!).
So, I only have the Ktan sling but I've used a Bjorn and a NoJo dr. sears one with my nephews and nieces. The thing that sold me on the Baby K'tan was the "8 positions" thing. So I could pouch her while she's young, and then front carry her bjorn style once she can support her own head in a few months. She hopefully won't "outgrow" this one like other slings I saw.
I know that a lot of mommies mention that their husband's love the Ergo/Bjorn style and their manlier looks (compared to a sling) but I think that the dual shoulders baby k'tan look wicked cool. It looks STRONG, not exposed like those Bjorn/Ergo style. Anyway, for me the Ergo/Bjorn style carriers wouldn't satisfy my womb envy so of the slings I saw, this was the one for me. You can pouch baby when their young and then switch to front carry later, and then hip-carry when they get over one year. I've done all those.
So, I love this sling yes, but every sling is a walking compromise (like sailboats, except they float and don't walk). This sling takes some lessons to explain to somebody (like Grandparents, Aunties etc). Now, the bjorn is not the most intuitive thing either, so it's no big deal to me. I just want you to know that you'll have put it on a few practice tries before you sling your kid or hand this off to the unsuspecting.
It's washable and dryable just like anything else cotton. And as you use it it stretches out like cotton does. If it seems too loose, it'll be time to wash it again and it tightens up again.
At first it took me two or three times to position her correctly, but in no time I'm an expert. I drop the outer hoop off my shoulder, form a pouch with the inner hoop and put her butt inside like she is going to sit down like a grown up. Then her head goes up high in the pouch (up on my shoulder). Then she'll slide right into place with gravity. I bring the outer hoop back up on my shoulder, adjust for comfort and then stick my pinky in her mouth till she falls asleep.
I bought on amazon, and i bought the small. I'm 5' 10" 145lbs. My wife is 5' 6" (weight withheld by request) so we can swap easily between us with a small.

hands down the best baby carrier!!
I have tried a lot of the baby carriers...beco, ergo, mobi, traditional slings, etc....this is hands down the best baby carrier on the market!! It is soft and all cotton so no hard parts to pinch your baby or rough fabric against his/her skin. It can do all the best positions and is totally safe. I am also able to slip it off when my daughter falls asleep without waking her up which is not possible with most other carriers. Buy this carrier! The only comment is that I think that the sizing is incorrect. I am a size 4 dress and according to the company's sizing I should use a size small. My daughter was quite small when she was born and the size medium works well for us but is tight after washing. I have tried the size small and it squishes her against me in an uncomfortable fashion. I would suggest buying one size bigger than they say to.

This has worked great for me
We have a preemie girl who's five weeks old now and requires a lot of care and attention - this carrier has been a God-send. It's allowed me to hold her and have my hands free to do light chores such as washing the parts for the breast pump and making myself a sandwich. I've even played Wii bowling! When she's been worn in the carrier some of the day, she's actually easier to put down at night and has had fewer episodes of colic. I think the movement of being in the carrier has helped her with the gas and tummy troubles she's had. In fact I'm wearing her right now and listening to her tummy gurgle.
With a newborn, always make sure if you use a carrier that their airways are not compromised by their head/neck position and are breathing smoothly. It kind of bothered me that I could't find that in the instructions, but I may have just missed it. I am a sleep-deprived new mommy.
We got the brown carrier and it's super cute, and the hat that came with it was a great bonus. I would buy this for friends.

The best baby carrier! Love this item!
I have 4 children and have been through many baby carriers! I purchased this with my fourth baby and whis I'd had it with all my babies!
Very soft cotton with a bit of stretch. So easy to use! Many different carry positions! Easy to follow instructions! I love the double loop design. I can easily slip it over my head, get the baby wrapped up and use the additional sash tied around my waist for extra support!
I had tried the Moby wrap, but didn't like all the wrapping and tying! It was also a bit difficult to figure out and get a good fit. With the baby k'tan there is no wrapping/tying! It's so easy to use and wraps/holds the baby just like the moby wrap! I suggest checking out the baby k'tan website to look at the demo video and see just how easy this is!
Washes up great in the washing machine. Can be dried in the dyer, but does shrink a little. It is 100% cotton, so this is to be expected. But, it does stretch back out after wearing it once or twice. I suggest just letting it hang dry to avoid the shrinkage.

The Baby Ktan Baby Carrier is a new and innovative soft baby carrier that is a cross between a sling and a more structured front carrier, providing the positions and benefits of both. There is no other carrier available like it. Parents or caregivers can comfortably carry infants and toddlers (from birth to 3+ years old) in five different positions, (normally three different carries are needed to encompass these 5 positions), and create an ideal environment for premature babies and babies with special needs. The Baby Ktan has added security and back support as compared to the traditional sling, and added comfort and ease of use as compared to the traditional front carrier. Our unique design offers the wearer a 100% cotton carrier with NO buckles, snaps, rings or hardware, that otherwise make baby wearing complicated and uncomfortable. Our patent pending lumbar support band offers the wearer extra back support and makes it easy to adjust baby or toddlers weight distribution on both shoulders. The Baby Ktans unique two loop design holds babies more securely and is extremely easy to use - NO WRAPPING INVOLVED! It is easy to put on and take off. The Baby KtanTM Baby Carrier is sized to fit the parent or adult who will be carrying the child. Carrier size generally corresponds to a fitted t-shirt size for women and chest measurements generally correspond to suit jacket size for men. If in between sizes, choose a smaller size. for true size, wash and tumble dry before first use. Small: Women top size up to size 6 and men chest size up to 37 inches.
