Exceptional Children: An Introduction to Special Education (with MyEducationLab) (9th Edition)

Fantastic Book For Understanding Students With Disabilites
This book explains almost all disabilities on an introductory level. It has great information and strategies on how to work with each of these students that will not only benefit them, but all the children in your classroom. There are biographies of teachers working in the field with their personal take on working with exceptional children and articles on current trends or hot topics for each disability. Plus, there are current websites listed in the book that you can plug into to get further information on a multitude of subjects. This is one book that I will keep for my personal library not only as a great reference for writing a paper, but also to use as a resource when I get a new student with a disability that I am not familiar with.

exceptional book
The book was brand new, still in the plastic. I got in in very fast when I ordered it & didn't have to pay near as much as the school's bookstore wanted for it.

mailing problems
Due to a mistyped address, I had problems receiving this item... and now that it has been re-shipped, re-ordered and even returned I am still needing a refund of one copy.

Amazon is awesome
I purchased this book and it didn't come with the access code required for the online webpage associated with the book. I called customer service and I was extremely please that the rep. was able to refund me the cost of the access code so that I could buy it from the website and not be out . For anyone in college...(of course you are if you are getting this book) I highly recommend paying a little extra for supplies if it means that you have good customer service to back you up!

Yes boring, but very informative
If you don't won't the lengthy version just cut to the end of each chapter for a great summary. It is very well organized so even though it is lengthy if you're looking for something specific like "educational approaches" or "causes" or "prevalence" for a specific disability you can find it easily. BUT JEEZ it's expensive
