amusing read, good instructions
I was looking for a "reference how-to manual" instead of baby books that are meant to be read cover to cover. I'm an avid reader, but I'd rather have instructions I can reference instead of having to try and remember everything. As a first time father, there's a lot of information out there and it's overwhelming. This book was quite well written in a humourous way, and takes care of all of the things you'll need to know about taking care of a baby.

Simple yet comical
This book is wonderful because it goes through the basics of baby care. Very easy to follow with lots of humor mixed in. My only complaint is that it could have been a little bit more detailed in certain areas. Overall I would recommend this book as a good general overview to any first time parent!

Great for DIY Dad
My husband LOVED this book. All the basics, no fluff. Perfect for the father to be.

Great book!
This is a book that I bought for fun based off the cover and the description. I didn't actually expect it to be funny and such a great resource. I've read a couple of different books for dads to be, and this was one of the most enjoyable. It's an easy read and surprisingly my wife really enjoyed it as well! I highly recommend this book.

Great book for engineers that are new parents
I only can say that this book is the ultimate guide for parents that are used to work with CAD/CAM software, use Matlab just for fun or try to resume his life in flowcharts.

The title, Baby Owners Manual, suggests the promise and the problem of this cheeky and comprehensive guide written by a pediatrician and his son. First-time parents who are not offended by the observation that "babies, unlike other appliances, lack instruction manuals," will find a rich resource of facts and advice. The book is divided into seven categories of "operating instructions" including home installation, feeding and power supply, sleep mode, maintenance, development, and safety. Complete with witty schematic drawings and charts, the authors answer hundreds of questions about breastfeeding, bed, bath, and beyond. While most manuals focus on tender loving care, the authors chose to focus on baby as technology. The result is a highly useful--almost too cool--reference book. Because every parent knows that babies are messier and more rewarding than this approach imagines. --Barbara Mackoff
