LeapFrog® Leapster® Learning Game: Pet Pals

My daughter's favorite game!
My older daughter is almost 6 and received this along with 5 other Leapster games and the Leapster 2 for Christmas. So, we've had this game for 3 months and it is by far her favorite game to play. She dabbles with the others - Go Diego Go, Dora's Camping, Disney Fairies, Ni Hao Kai-Lan, and Star Wars Reading - listed in order of preference. But she always goes back to this one. She loves Littlest Pet Shop toys and it reminds her of them. But, I think this one is far more educational than LPS games on DS or Wii.
I could see her playing this game regularly for at least another year as she better grasps the concepts - for example, she knows/finds the capital letters, but doesn't bother to bark the lower case letters away first, while on walks. She loves dressing the dogs up (aka - doggie dress-up) - actually that's the one part of the game her little sister who's 2.5 loves and is able to do too. It seems to have a fair amount of direction following, which is a valuable lesson to be taught, especially by a cheerful narrator to whom my daughter readily listens. She was so proud when she finally got 1st place at the dog show! And it motivated her to get more trophies and ribbons - by following the directions for the bath and doggie dress-up, and tracing letters.
All-in-all this game has definitely been a great game for our child and I highly recommend it, especially if your child likes animals, dogs, or Littlest Pet Shop toys.

Highly recommend!!
This is definitely one of my girls favorite games. I have a 3 and a 5 year old daughters. I would say their most played games are this, Kindergarten, Letters on the Loose, and Get Puzzled. We also have a Diego, a Princess, a Nemo, and an I Spy game that get occassional play.

My daughter loves this game!
My daughter is 6 years old and finds this game to be very fun. She was able to figure out how to play it fairly quickly. I'm not sure how educational it is in terms of math or reading but she does enjoy "taking care of" the dogs on there and giving them names.

Great game.
My son is 5 and really likes this game. He likes being able to take care of his pet dog and I like that he's working with letters and words.

Game Educational game
I bought this for my 4 year old newphew. He loves it, his mom says he hated to practice writing his letters, but is SO excited when he helps his dog write letters correctly. My 5 year old daughter received this as a gift this December and although she has been writing her letters for over a year, she also loves this game. The game has different levels to challenge kids. She loves to teach her dog new tricks and hunt for words at the park. This game is definitely worth the money.
