Bone Loss Solution
We recently purchased a Mio Pup at the Goodwill and didn't realize that it needed the bone also. We took our aquarium fish tank magnet that is used to clean the tank and put it up to it's mouth and it stuck while the Pup started feeding. Just a quick solution to throwing away or buying a whole new unit. Any strong magnet should work. You'll know by the emocons changing from starving down to normal then gone. YOUR WELCOME!!!!!!!

Disappointing
I bought this last year for my step-daughter for Christmas. It was at the top of her wish list. She played with it for one day and it has been in the toy box ever since. It's cute but does not maintain the attention of a 7-8 year old. Sometime it starts to "bark" and doesn't stop.

neat...must have a big Imagination to get into
My 6 year old loves this puppy--we are unable to have a pet in our apt. so this was the closest we could have to the real thing. It's not near the level of interaction of having a real dog but my daughter's imagination more than makes up for that; She likes the idea of emotions and lights the pups displays and really doesn't care that it doesn't do "traditional dog-like actions". It all depends on what your child's expectations are for this toy that will determine the enjoyment value. For those who need a replacement bone or battery cover you can go to [...] and type in "mio pup" in the search window and it will bring up a page with the order form.... the cost was reasonable also. I hope this info. was helpful.

It's an okay toy
We purchased this toy for my daughter for Christmas. One of the reasons I purchased it was because she really wanted a dog (real dog) but I am not fond of them. The commercials and reviews made it seem like it was as close to a real dog as a toy could get. It is not. It is not even as tech savy as I thought it would be. My daughter was disappointed at first because she expected sooo much more because of the commericals, but she really does seem to like it. She loves the sounds it makes and how it tells you when it is hungry, sad, etc. She loves that she can make it play music. So it is an okay toy, but not as great as advertising made it seem.

For the dogs
Not such a hot toy for a 7 year old. It has a million different symbols so you have to look it up in the book to see what the Pup needs since it just gives you a 'sign' as to what it wants. Most of them look alike too, so you really have to look close to tell what they are. Great marketing though, it looks super neat, but the functionality isn't quiet so neat.
