No more batteries!!
I love the Leapster Recharging Station. My son plays with his Leapster so much, I swear I was putting 4 new AAA batteries in every week or two. Mostly because he likes to pause it and doesn't understand he's running down the batteries!! Now I just charge it overnight every now and then and he can go go go!

Shipped quickly!
The Leapster goes through batteries pretty quickly with my kids, so the charger pays for itself very quickly. We ordered it, hoping it would be here before we went out of town. It shipped quickly and arrived just in time, so we could get the Leapster fully charged before vacation.

I'm so glad I went ahead and purchased this for my children's leapster! Batteries are expensive especially for the little people because the need them often! This is a great purchase. I encourage you to go ahead, bite the bullet and spend this little extra and not have to worry about picking up batteries the next time you are out!

You CAN get an extra battery pack
Okay, I haven't actually received this yet. I've been looking at reviews for the entire leapster system and was trying to figure out whether or not to get the recharging station when I was reading the many reports that you cannot get an extra battery pack and then the last post which said you could. I wanted to check for myself before placing my order online. When I first asked about getting just the battery pack I was politely told NO, it was not available, I would need to purchase TWO charging stations. I mentioned that I read a review on AMAZON that said it WAS available and the polite lady put me on hold to check. When she returned, she was happy to sell me one for a total of .00. So, even though I haven't purchased the system yet, I do have one extra battery pack on its way. She said it would take 10-15 business days and it was only available for purchase over the phone. I have never written a review on anything but I thought this was interesting enough to post. Hope it helps someone in the future!

Must have with Leapster!
We have two Leapster 2, so bought 2 recharging stations. Would have been nice to get just a second battery, but ordered our 2nd one about a week before the person posted about getting a replacement battery! O-well.
We bought our first Leapster 2 and recharge station for Chrismas 2008, both are still doing great! When we needed a second Leapster for this past Christmas (2009) I didn't hesitate to get the second recharge station. Has worked out too, we travel to visit family and take one recharge station with us, leave one home. Works out since we have left it a grandma's house before!
Battery life is more than enough. Have never had issue with that.
I do agree they are hard to get out of station. I always forget which end I'm suppose to pull out first. But this is a minor to me, feel the product's benefits far outway this little frustration.
